Low levels of confidence can be very restrictive in a person’s day to day life. When dealing with a high pressure situation it’s perfectly normal to feel nervous, anxious and lacking in confidence.

Most people feel slight trepidation in these situations but for others it can be debilitating. This can prevent them from living the life they want to, and from having new experiences.

Sometimes, people who are lacking in confidence often feel out of control and have negative thoughts about themselves and their life. This may be because they feel like they’re stuck with it, and there’s nothing that can be done about it.

It’s perfectly normal to feel nervous, anxious and lacking in confidence. For example sitting exams, going on a date, job interview, public speaking/presenting, driving test, stage fright. The first thing to understand if you’re looking to get over your low self confidence, is that that there is something that can be done. Even that in itself can help you feel a bit more in control right from the start.

How can hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy can help to remove a lot of the unhelpful beliefs and negativity in the way you talk to yourself so that you can focus on what you want. You can start to develop new and exciting beliefs. Your self confidence will improve because it was always there anyway. You were born with confidence and generally it’s just life experiences and “knocks” that lower our levels of confidence and self belief. Through hypnotherapy we can use various techniques including visualising yourself as more confident and in control. When you visualise an event/action you trigger the same neural pathways as if you were actually there, doing it. And once you have that belief and knowledge that you are capable, you can find it easier to utilise in day to day life.

Hypnosis helps to build a ‘bridge’ from where you are just now to your destination – doing what you want to do in a safe and comfortable environment and give you the confidence to try.
